YIN YOGA TRAINING (25 CEU)*
25 hours (15 contact hours & 10 non-contact hours)
Yin Yoga
What is “Yin Yoga?” The answer is not fully discovered through words. To really understand Yin Yoga, or any form of yoga, one must experience it! Immerse yourself in a weekend Yin Yoga Certification program that is designed to be both personally and professionally transformative.
Explore Yin Yoga through the perspective of Yogic philosophy. Enhance your own personal practice through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy. Teaching skills will be cultivated as you gain insights into your own personal practice coupled with guidance on intelligent sequencing from a functional point of view.
The program is led in three modules (practice, teaching methodology, and application/mentorship).
*Please note that the Traditional Chinese Medicine section of the program does not count towards continuing education credits with Yoga Alliance.
Practice Module
Familiarize yourself with the 20+ yin asanas and variations
Explore your own embodied intuition and wisdom within each asana
Build and sharpen your ability to concentrate (dharana)
Teaching Methodology Module
Learn the principles and qualities of Yin Yoga
Acquire the skill of intelligent sequencing from a functional point of view
Study and appreciate the role of connective tissue (fascia)
Explore the framework of the Yoga Sutra’s
Enhance your own embodied and poetic experience through the Philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Application/Mentorship Module
Observe a yin yoga class
Complete writing assignments & required readings
Guide A yin yoga class
Attend one mentorship session
Upon completion of the application/mentorship module, you will receive a Yin Yoga certificate for Yoga Alliance continuing education credits.
